Philosophy
As a former baseball player, Kevin learned early on that hitting success comes from the seven fundamentals: Bat grip, hand placement, loading, stride length, hip rotation, contact, and follow through. With each lesson, these steps are broken down and reviewed to best fit his clients’ hitting needs. All hitters learn how to apply these techniques to overcome their weaknesses and improve their hitting abilities.
Biography
Kevin’s expertise and enthusiasm are built on the foundation of his own successes as a student and college athlete. He attended high school in Lexington, Illinois and played football, basketball, and baseball all four years while achieving all-state honors his junior and senior year in baseball. During his junior year, Kevin, shortstop for the Minutemen, pitched the team to a state victory in 1990 and was named the state MVP. In the summer of ’91 he played in the Area vs. InterCity All-Star game where his five hits propelled the Area to a victory and once again Kevin received the MVP award. Kevin’s achievements caught the attention of baseball scouts from the New York Mets, Houston Astros, and Kansas City Royals.
Kevin’s accomplishments in high school earned him a baseball scholarship to Lincoln Land Community College in 1991. While playing for the Loggers under the coaching staff of Claude Kracik, Ron Riggle, and the hitting instruction of Bruce Richards and Baltimore Orioles’ Tim Hulett, Kevin played in the NJCAA National Tournament in 1993 ranking the Lincoln Land Loggers 5th in the nation. The next year with a regular season hitting average of .455, he led the Loggers to a National Championship. In 2007, Kevin, along with the rest of the 1994 champions, was inducted into the Springfield Baseball Hall of Fame.
During the summer of 1997 Kevin earned his coaching certificate through the state of Illinois. Since then, he has been instructing athletes of all ages in the Bloomington-Normal area and has coached many summer league programs in baseball and softball.

He had a career 1.89 ERA and held opponents to a .181 batting average, and holds the record for saves with 21 and most consecutive scoreless innings pitched (38). He was inducted into the ODU Hall of Fame in 1999.
Audelle has been coaching baseball for 25+ years. He got his start in coaching as an assistant coach at Ohio Dominican and then coaching an elite 18U travel baseball team in his hometown of Newark, Ohio. Audelle has also coached youth travel teams in the Bloomington/Normal area for the past 8 years, and is currently the pitching coach at Normal Community High School.
As a pitching instructor, Audelle has helped players at all ages and skill levels be able to maximize their potential and go on to have very successful high school and collegiate careers. He focuses on proper mechanics that are tailored to each individual and teaching the mental aspects of pitching.
In addition to coaching, Audelle also has 20+ years of experience as a high school umpire. He uses his experience from working with other umpires to teach pitchers how to adjust to different strike zones, and how composure on the mound can work to their advantage.

Philosophy As a beginners softball/baseball hitting coach, my philosophy is to focus on holistic player development, fostering a love for the game, and instilling essential life skills through the art of hitting. Fundamentals is the key at this age. We will work tirelessly on the fundamentals through drills and games that make the workout fun. At this age their attention span is short and very easily distracted so it’s important to make it fun so they want to keep coming back to learn and work on their hitting.
My goal is to Prioritize the individual needs and abilities of each player. Tailor my coaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and skill levels, ensuring every player has the opportunity to succeed and grow.
Fundamentals First: Emphasize the importance of mastering the fundamental mechanics of hitting. Focus on proper stance, grip, swing mechanics, and hand-eye coordination, laying a solid foundation for advanced skills to build upon.
Progressive Skill Development: Implement a progressive approach to skill development, gradually introducing new techniques and challenges as players improve. Break down complex movements into simple, manageable steps, providing clear instruction and constructive feedback along the way.
Positive Reinforcement: Foster a supportive and encouraging environment where players feel empowered to take risks and learn from their mistakes. Celebrate small victories and milestones, reinforcing positive behaviors and attitudes both on and off the field.
Character Building: Use softball/baseball as a platform to teach important life lessons such as perseverance, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Encourage players to demonstrate integrity, resilience, and respect for themselves, their teammates, coaches, and opponents.
Love for the Game: Cultivate a deep passion and appreciation for the sport of softball/baseball. Inspire players to approach each practice and game with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and grow as athletes and individuals.
Long-Term Development: Take a holistic approach to player development, considering not only their current skills and abilities but also their long-term potential and aspirations. Provide opportunities for players to set goals, track their progress, and strive for continuous improvement both on and off the field.
By embracing these principles, I can create a positive and enriching experience for your son or daughter, helping them develop into confident, skilled anthletes and responsible, resilient individuals both on and off the field.
