Hitting Coach
Jermaine Allensworth is a former MLB player drafted in the 1st round by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of Purdue University where he recently (2018) inducted into the school's Hall of Fame. He was an outfielder who spent 4 years in the MLB and played professionally for 15 years. The majority of his MLB time was with the Pirates but also had time with the Kansas City Royals and New York Mets. Allensworth was voted organization Player of the Year the season he was called up as well as a AAA All-Star and voted Best Defensive Outfielder in the Pacific Coast League(PCL). He competed in the highly touted Arizona Fall League with all the top prospects. Jermaine helped win the AA Championship with the Carolina Mudcats and was team MVP of his short season Class A Pirates team where was also an All-Star.
The Purdue product played 3 years at school where he was a starter for the duration. Jermaine was a two time 1st team All-Big Ten selection adn the schools first Pre and Post team All-American in school history. He also spent a summer playing in the Cape Cod League with a lot of top college prospects from across the country. Allensworth is from Central Indiana where he was a multi-sport athlete who won numerous awards and accolades. Jermaine also worked for GM in Engineering Department for 1 1/2 years.

Pitching Coach
Audelle Cummings is a former professional baseball player who pitched in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. Some of his former instructors include Dodgers’ great Sandy Koufax, Burt Hooten, and former Boston Red Sox pitching coach Dave Wallace. Audelle played collegiate baseball at NCAA Div. II Ohio Dominican University and was a 3 time All-Conference selection and a 2 time All-Regional pitcher. He had a career 1.89 ERA and held opponents to a .181 batting average, and holds the record for saves with 21 and most consecutive scoreless innings pitched (38). He was inducted into the ODU Hall of Fame in 1999.
Audelle has been coaching baseball for 25+ years. He got his start in coaching as an assistant coach at Ohio Dominican and then coaching an elite 18U travel baseball team in his hometown of Newark, Ohio. Audelle has also coached youth travel teams in the Bloomington/Normal area for the past 8 years, and is currently the pitching coach at Normal Community High School.
As a pitching instructor, Audelle has helped players at all ages and skill levels be able to maximize their potential and go on to have very successful high school and collegiate careers. He focuses on proper mechanics that are tailored to each individual and teaching the mental aspects of pitching.
In addition to coaching, Audelle also has 20+ years of experience as a high school umpire. He uses his experience from working with other umpires to teach pitchers how to adjust to different strike zones, and how composure on the mound can work to their advantage.

Pitching Coach
Andy Turner has been a high school head baseball coach for 11 years at three area high schools. His teams during those 11 years won 7 regional championships (Normal West 98 and 99, Normal Community 03 and 04 and Heyworth 23, 24 and 25) , 5 sectional championship appearances (Normal West 98 and 99, Normal Community 04 and Heyworth 23 and 25) and a state final appearance (Normal Community 04). He was also the field manager in 2022 and 2023 in the collegiate Prospect League for the Normal CornBelters. His 2022 team still holds the record for most wins in a single season in Belters history. Andy played collegiate baseball at NCAA Div. II Truman State University and was a 2 time All-Conference selection (85 and 86) and the MIAA Sportsmanship Award winner in 1986.
Andy has been coaching or running baseball camps for nearly 40 years while working professionally full time as an athletic director at Rochester, Normal Community, Maine South, Glenbrook South and Hinsdale Central high schools. In 2025 Turner was inducted into the Illinois High School Athletic Directors (IADA) Hall of Fame. He is currently a volunteer pitching coach at Normal West High School.
As a head coach and pitching instructor, Andy has promoted several players to the college and professional level. He has had brief experiences with MLB biomechanics expert Dr. Glenn Fleisig and several other mentors throughout his career who have developed his knowledge of pitching instruction and human body performance relating to the game of baseball. Techniques on the arm action, lower body and torso movements are the major phases involved with instruction.
During his early coaching career, Turner worked as one of the coaches at the Billy Todd Baseball Camp at C&H Park in St.Charles, MO from 1989-1992. He was also an invited instructor at the Illinois State University winter camps in 1996 and 1997. Turner was the head coach for the Illinois Mitsubishi McDonald's All-Stars in 2001 that concluded their tour at Latin American Stadium in Havana, Cuba. The All-Star team was partly funded by the State of Illinois as an agricultural exchange between the state of Illinois and Cuba. Since 2006 Turner has volunteered as a summer coach on several high school summer teams with the Bloomington/Normal Baseball Association, Bloomington Normal Girls Softball Association, and the Park Ridge Baseball/Softball Association. In addition, Turner worked with Pro Camp, Cincinnati, OH in 2017 to bring Kyle Schwarber’s Inaugural Youth Baseball Camp to Maine South High School. In 2018 Turner volunteered with the Chicago Cubs Charities’ Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) to help advance a curriculum for intercity youth baseball.

Tom Triezenberg is an educator and coach in Bloomington-Normal. He is the head coach for the 8th grade boys baseball team at Kingsley Jr. High. He also has six years experience as a head and assistant coach at various levels with Normal Community High School and Thornwood High School in South Holland, IL.

Pitching, Hitting, Fielding, and Catching Coach
Coach Brent Kittel is a baseball lifer. He has been in the game as a player, coach, scout and trainer for over 50 years. Coach Kittel has coached at the high school ,college and international level, and was one of the very first ‘lesson guys’ in the
Chicagoland area. He has coached collegiately at the Division 1 and 3 levels and at an NAIA affiliated Division 1 school. He has also coached internationally in Italy,
Australia and Germany. Coach Kittel has been involved in the travel baseball business for 20 years. He has been a head coach with prep level teams at Illinois Ice, Demarini and Hinsdale Red Dogs and Devils. Coach Kittel was the founder of Illinois Ice and was a founding member of Team Demarini Illinois. The coach has over 25 years of high school baseball coaching experience. . Kittel was most recently the Pitching and Infield Coach at 4A power house Hinsdale Central. While at HC the team won two conference championships and a regional championship, while achieving a number 6 rating in the IHSA standings for 2022. Kittel is perhaps
most well- known for his time at 2A powerhouse Westmont High School, where they won 105 games in four years, finishing third ,fifth and sixth in State Championship play. During his tenure at Westmont the team set records for wins, playoff appearances, ERA, batting average and homeruns. Two players were selected in the MLB draft and 14 went on to play collegiately. One of those
players was fortunate enough to play in the championship of the College World Series. As a player Kittel prepped at Downers Grove North, played collegiately at the
University of Alabama and Illinois State and played internationally in Europe, Australia and Asia. Kittel was a middle infielder and pitcher throughout his career.
He was known for his speed, tenacity and heady play. All of these attributes
contribute to his coaching style. Brent is a retired middle school Social Studies teacher and owns Five Tool School and Diamond Cut Performance, a baseball
academy and physical training business. Brent is also a certified personal trainer
and strength and conditioning coach. He, his wife Mary and their dog Jeter have
just moved to Bloomington.

Hi, my name is Jeremy Fischer. I played baseball at Normal West and then went on to play at Elmhurst University, before finishing my academic career at Illinois State University.
I have been an assistant coach at Parkside Jr High for 9 years and have also been an assistant with the Freshmen team at Normal West for 4 years. I have coached summer travel baseball for the last 4 years with BNBA Gold and Rhino Central Illinois.

Introducing Coach Nick Sanchez: A dedicated educator turned seasoned hitting coach, Nick Sanchez brings over 25 years of experience to the diamond. Formerly a PE teacher at Bridgeport Academy Elementary School in Chicago, Nick's passion for sports and nurturing young talent has driven him to coach recreational and travel baseball and softball teams. With a knack for working with kids aged 6-13, Nick finds joy in teaching the fundamentals of swinging and hitting, instilling a love for the game in his players. Currently, Nick serves as the Head Coach for a 12U girls softball team and contributes his expertise as a coach at Central Catholic High School, shaping the next generation of hitters with enthusiasm and expertise.

Josh is a former Bloomington-Normal baseball player and accomplished coach with over 14 years of youth travel baseball coaching experience. His goal is to develop players holistically with a focus on increasing strength, developing mental toughness, and demonstrating baseball skills at the highest level. He has a track record of leading teams with winning attitudes and players that achieved success at the junior high, high school, and collegiate levels. Andrea is a former Travel Softball Player and D3 Player. She grew up in the Quad Cities and then attended Illinois Wesleyan University.
She has coached Rec League Teams, Travel Teams for BNGSA and was Head Coach at Kingsley Junior High for over 6 years.
She has been doing lessons here at Double Play since we opened our doors and loves seeing the individual growth of each player both in skill and confidence.

Pitching Coach
Jess Bradley grew up playing softball in St. Louis, MO. She has been umpiring softball from ages 10u through varsity high school for the last 12 years and has been giving pitching lessons for the last few years. Jess is passionate about teaching young pitchers the fundamentals of the game and believes that building a strong base is an integral part of becoming a successful pitcher. Jess is knowledgeable about the rules of softball and teaches pitching mechanics that align with the NCAA rules so that her students are mechanically legal wherever they go to play. Maddie Adams is a former Texas Glory player and played at Uhigh for 4 years. She was named Central State 8 All Conference and Illinois Coaches Association All State all 3 years. She graduated from Lincoln Land Community College where she earned MWAC First team All-Conference and will be transferring to Illinois College to continue playing softball. Claire Post went to Heyworth before moving to Normal Community West High School. She was a multi-sport athlete and a letter winner at both Heyworth and West for softball. For travel softball she played for BNGSA, Game Seven, and Texas Glory. She is currently a senior at Illinois Wesleyan University studying Graphic Design and is going into my 4th season with IWU Softball. Her freshman year she received first team all-conference honors as well as the CCIW newcomer of the year award. Her junior year she received 2nd team all-conference honors as well as making the all-tournament team in their regional.
